Edna passed away on June 11, 2004 and remembered Michigan Garden Clubs Inc. in a memorial established at the Grand Traverse Regional Community Foundation in Traverse City, Michigan. Edna was a life member of The Friendly Garden Club of Traverse City and lived with her husband John in Suttons Bay, Michigan. She was an outstanding organic horticulturist, Master Gardner, landscape critic and an Accredited Life Flower Show Judge.
 As a member of her garden club, she helped establish the first Garden Walk, which continues today, 27 years later. She was a life member of the Michigan Garden Club, serving on the state board for ten years, a life member of the National Garden Club, a founder of the Cherryland Garden Club of Traverse City and a member of the Punta Gorda Garden Club of Florida. Edna helped establish a scholarship fund for young gardeners and contributed to the establishment of the Grand Traverse Area Children' s Garden in Traverse City. Edna believed that Children's education planted seeds for the future. She also hoped that the Garden Clubs of Michigan would bridge generations and build continuing educational opportunities for gardeners throughout the state.
