Kent Garden Club of Grand Rapids presents an exciting concept in garden tours this summer. The tours feature one garden on four consecutive Fridays. The goal is to encourage families to be more interactive with the world outside and to nurture children’s interest in nature by introducing them to the fascinating world of gardening.  Tour dates: July 16, 23, 30 and August 6

Weekly themes are:

• Slugs n’ Bugs n’ Thugs: learn about pests in the garden
• Busy Bees, Birds, and Butterflies: encourage beneficial insects and animals
• Eat Your Veggies: steps in planting a vegetable garden and edible plants
• A Fairy Tale Tea Party: a tea party using herbs and edible flowers

 These tours are free to children who are accompanied by an adult. Adult tickets are $5 and up to three children are allowed. For information and tickets call Gabi Blacklidge at 616-866-4143.
