MAAJ Flower Show Symposium

Registration is open for the June 22 and 23, 2010 Michigan Flower Show Symposium which will be held at the Holiday Inn in Ann Arbor, MI.

The program features two well qualified instructors.Sandra Joyce on Horticulture and Judy Monnot on Design.

Our instructor, Sandi hails from Hudson, Massachusetts. She is a NGC Master Judge and Accredited NGC Flower Show Procedure, Horticulture and Symposia Instructor. She currently serves on NGC Flower Show Schools Committee as Horticulture and Flower Show Procedure Instructor’s Chairman and Prospective Instructors Chairman. She has an A.A. from Lasell College and B.A. from Framingham State. For over 35 years, Sandi has owned and operated a floral business and has lectured many groups on design and horticulture.

Judy is an award winning designer and Flower Show Schedule writer and a Master Flower Show Judge.  She has been Ohio’s Flower Show Schools Chairman, NGC Board for Handbook Exam Committee, and writer whose gardening column appeared in the Canton Repository.  Several of her Designs appear in Designing by Types, published by NGC in 2008.  In February 2009, she presented a program for the Creative Floral Arrangers of the Americas in Orlando, FL at their annual seminar.As a former, professional educator, she always hopes that members of the audience have fun and leave with at least a tidbit of discovery.  Judy’s design philosophy is “Don’t be afraid to go out on a limb.  That’s where all the fruit is.”
