From Youth ChairA few words of inspiration from MGC’s Youth Chair” “As you walk around your gardens…to discover what new life Spring has brought forth…grab a child by the hand…and allow them to discover along with you. It won’t be much longer before greenhouses and other retail outlets have available all the makings of our gardens…and as you plan your flower and vegetable gardens this year…I challenge you to include teaching something about gardening to a child in your plans.
The opportunities are endless…from leading a youth garden club in your community…to organizing special gardening projects involving youth groups within your community…to perhaps a neighborhood project…or just simply involving your own children or grandchildren in your gardening tasks. Yes we can!...get our kids outside…away from the television and video games…and make learning fun for them. I challenge you to challenge each other…to “Discover the wonder of nature’s secrets through the eyes of a child”.”
